Fire tests – EN13501 and CE mark EN14915

Wood construction is becoming more popular due to its aesthetics and sustainability component. But despite all benefits, many remain skeptical about the renewable and climate-friendly building material due to its fire performance.

Classifications of fire performance in building materials as well as testing methods have been harmonized in Europe. They are based on the standards EN 13501-1, Fire classification of construction products and building elements.

However, if a product is covered by the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), e.g. Timber Cladding; it must be CE marked to the relevant standard, for example, timber cladding has to be CE Marked to EN 14915:2013 Solid wood paneling and cladding.

The systems below are classified as D-s2,d0, meaning that the coatings don’t worsen the fire classification of uncoated wood. This grants our customers the CE mark for their claddings.
